Calvin campus closed through Thursday, January 31

The Calvin College campus will remain closed through Thursday, January 31, 2019, due to inclement weather. Classes and events scheduled during this time are cancelled, and most buildings will be closed. Residence halls will remain open. Services needed for residential students will continue to be provided, and personnel needed for these services as well as for the safety of the college will report for work.

Friday, February 1:聽 Faculty and students take note

The academic class schedule usually followed on Mondays will be followed on聽Friday, February 1.

Health Services

Health Services will be available for limited hours on Thursday to assist residential students with acute medical needs. To reach a Health Services care provider while the office is closed, students can use their聽 or leave a message for the triage nurse at 616-526-6187. The care team is doing their best to respond remotely to each request received this week.


Faculty & Staff information

Supervisors will communicate with their employees regarding 鈥渆ssential personnel鈥 for this situation.

Human Resources will follow up about proper time tracking for staff after the college re-opens.

Visitor information聽

All home athletic events scheduled for聽Wednesday and聽Thursday are cancelled.

Further updates?

College officials will continue to monitor the weather closely, but at this time聽plan to reopen campus on聽Friday, February 1 with classes following a Monday schedule.
