Biography
I did my graduate work studying the activation of the enzyme urease, which converts urea to carbon dioxide and ammonia via a nickel catalytic center. After graduate school I spent a year as a post doc studying the role of P450's in traumatic brain injury in mice at MSU's College of Human Medicine. Since then I've been an adjunct faculty at Calvin and at Davenport University, teaching a variety of chemistry and biochemistry related courses. My husband and I have a son who is starting kindergarten. As a family we enjoy spending time outdoors and around water.
