Biography
Professor Wooters fell in love with the German language and culture in high school while a foreign exchange student in Augsburg, Germany. This visit, along with a new feeling of connection to her own German heritage and ancestors, led to a major in German studies at Michigan State University. During this time, she participated in a study abroad program for two summer semesters in Mayen, Germany. This led to lifelong friendships, travel opportunities, and a deeper appreciation of the German language and culture.
As an adjunct professor, she enjoys opening her students’ eyes to both big and small culture. Seeing students put the language to use, make cultural connections with others and make memories in German-speaking countries brings her great joy!
Professor Wooters enjoys traveling, reading, playing, watching, and coaching basketball, spending time with her family, and being outdoors.
