Thanksgiving Break Housing

  • Registration for Thanksgiving Break housing is required for all students remaining on campus.
  • Students must register by Monday, November 25: Ìý
  • Students may remain in their campus housing placements.
  • There is no cost for Thanksgiving Break.
  • The dining halls will remain open.

Winter Break Housing

10 a.m. on Friday, December 20 – Noon on Sunday, January 19

All on-campus (KE and residence hall) students requesting to remain on campus must register for Winter Break housing. Registration deadline is Sunday, December 14. Any late registrations will be charged a $50 late fee. Please be sure to sign up early to avoid late fees!

    • $25 per night -OR- flat rate of $500 for full 4 weeks of break
    • Current KE residents will not be charged for break housing but areÌýrequired toÌýregister by Sunday, December 14.
    • All late registrations will result in a $50 late fee (KE and Residence Hall residents).Ìý

Spring Break Housing

10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8 – Noon on Sunday, March 16

All »Æ´óÏɸßÊÖÂÛ̳ policies apply during Spring Break.

All on-campus (KE and residence hall) students requesting to remain on campus must register for Spring Break housing. Registration deadline is Monday, March 3, 2025. Any late registrations will be charged a $50 late fee. Please be sure to sign up early to avoid late fees!

    • KE Apartment Residents: No charge but must register.
    • Residence Hall Residents: $25 per night or $150 flat rate for the whole break
    • Note: There will be a $100 fine (plus the nightly charge of $25 for residence hall students) to anyone who remains on campus without registration. All Spring Break housing fees will be charge to your account after the break has ended.
  • For Spring Break 2025, both KE Apartment residents and residence hall students will have the opportunity to remain in their semester housing assignments. Registration is still required.

  • The dining halls will be closed during Spring Break. Students are encouraged to explore off campus dining options including food and grocery delivery services.

Summer Break Housing

Friday, May 9 – Monday, August 25*

All students needing housing after May 9 are required to fill out the Summer Housing application form, regardless of length of stay.

»Æ´óÏɸßÊÖÂÛ̳ is a convenient and safe option for summer living close to campus. The KE apartments have full amenities, a competitive rent rate, and an RA staff who plan community events throughout summer months. Summer housing applications are due Friday, April 18.Ìý

*Students not living on campus in the fall will need to move out by Noon on August 18.

  • Summer Break housing charges are listed below. Students who remain on campus during Summer Break without an approved application, will be charged the appropriate charges below in addition to a $100 fine. Billable nights for Summer Housing begin on May 9 and end on August 26.

    • Applications received BEFORE April 18: $2,000/Entire summer
    • Applications received AFTER April 18: $2,200/Entire Summer
    • $150/Week (cap at $2,200)
    • $25/Night

    • For residents only needing transitional housing from May 9 - May 11: Your total payment ($25/night) is due by May 9. If you are a graduating senior or have an approved special circumstance, your fee will be waived.
    • For residents needing summer housing anytime May 9 - August 26:
      • The due date for all summer housing charges is Friday, May 9.
      • You will be charged upfront based on the days/weeks you requested housing.
      • If your plans change and you check out early or stay later, your account will be adjusted accordingly.
      • You may pay through Workday or online: www.calvin.edu/go/summer-rent (for students who are graduating and no longer have Workday access)

    • Students working at the graduation ceremony
    • Graduating seniors
    • Students given special permission by the housing office

  • The residence halls will be closed during Summer Break, therefore all students requiring housing after May 12 will be staying in the Knollcrest East Apartments.

    Due to the high demand for housing, students will be placed with apartment-mates and roommates at various points throughout the summer.

  • The dining halls will be closed during Summer Break. Each KE apartment is equipped with a full kitchen to store and prepare food. Cooking utensils are not provided but can be borrowed via check-out at the KE front desk.
